• Insulate a room in your home. Hang blankets over the doors and windows to keep as much heat in as possible. Staying in the room that has another source of heat, such as a fireplace, is a good idea.
• Open your faucets to a steady drip. The constant flow of the water through the pipes can help avoid freezing.
